Description: Flathead County Neighborhood Plans are under the jurisdiction of the Flathead County Planning and Zoning Office. As defined in the Flathead County Growth Policy, Neighborhood Plans are areas that provide detailed information regarding land uses, policies, and issues relevant to a specific neighborhood or geographic area. They are intended to guide the community from present to future land use through patterns and development consistent with vision of the community, goals, policies and maps. Elements that may be included in a Neighborhood plan include the following: authorization & background, plan area boundaries, essential community characteristics, community vision, existing conditions, issues and opportunities, appropriate locations for all types of anticipated growth, goals and policies, land use categories, existing and planned land use maps, coordination statement, implementation strategy, monitoring plan, support information, amendment procedures. This data depicts finalized boundaries of neighborhood plans that have been adopted by the board of Flathead County Commissioner's. Legal descriptions are sent to GIS from the Clerk to the Board of Commissioner's upon approval. Boundaries are then digitized to the parcel base maps by the Flathead County GIS Department.
